On the 10th of June 1934, hosts Italy were up against Czechoslovakia, who formed in 1918, in the FIFA World Cup Final. In the 71st minute, Antonin Puc scored to put Czechoslovakia ahead and Frantisek Svoboda nearly made it two-nil to Czechoslovakia. However, Raimundo Orsi scored for Italy 10 minutes later and the match was level at the 90th minute. Therefore, there had to be extra time and Angelo Schiavio scored the winning goal in the 95th minute. The Azzuris were world champions from 1934 to the next World Cup in 1938.
